children's choirs

First Baptist has a complete graded choir program. The choirs are split into three by age: threes and fours, Kindergarten through 1st grade, and 2nd through 5th grade. The two younger choirs sing regularly on Wednesday nights and other special occasions. The 2nd through 5th graders sing regularly on Sundays and present special programs throughout the year, including “Christmas at First Baptist” with a full orchestra.

YOUTH CHOIR

The choir performs a variety of music, having presented Moravian Lovefeasts, an Anglican Evensong, Jazz Vespers services, a Taize services and more. This choir has performed on several choir tours, including singing at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC and on a mission trip to Puerto Rico. The Youth Choir presents seasonal and special programs throughout the year.

The Youth Choir for students in grades 6-12 and meets Sundays at noon. 

sanctuARY CHOIR

The Sanctuary Choir is under the direction of Rev. Keith A. Reaves, Minster of Worship/Music at First Baptist since 1999. The choir sings for worship each week and presents seasonal and special programs throughout the year. Our Reuter pipe organ has about 65 ranks and nearly 3000 pipes, and our nine-foot Baldwin piano also adds to our worship each week. Membership in the choir is open to anyone college-age and older.

The choir rehearses Wednesdays at 6:45 p.m.

first baptist ringers

The First Baptist Ringers ring five octaves of White Chapel Bells. They perform regularly for worship and special services. They rehearse from August through May. For more information on this group, contact Keith at kreaves@fbcrome.org.
