Our mission
The focus of our family ministry is on educating and empowering children at every age to know that they are an important part of their church family, and that their expressions of faith are valuable and important.Curriculum is chosen carefully based on each age group’s specific needs, ensuring that a comprehensive selection of Bible stories & faith concepts are covered by the time they move to the youth group.
Our volunteers
We are looking for passionate individuals to join our Children's Ministry team as volunteers! If you love working with kids and want to make a positive impact on their lives, please consider lending your time and talents. Let us know if you would be interested and willing to share your gifts with our children in one of our regular programs. Is teaching not your cup of tea? We have needs for volunteers of all talents and time commitments whether that be greeting at our Welcome Desk or serving in the nursery during Worship.
bible presentations
As each child promotes into First Grade, the church presents them with an age-appropriate Bible in Sunday morning worship with an inscription marking this special day. Kids are encouraged to bring this Bible to church to use in Sunday School & worship.
children's choirs
First Baptist has a complete graded choir program. There are three age-graded children's choirs; pre-k 3-5 years, kindergarten-1st grade, and 2nd-5th grade. Each of these choirs have performances throughout the year.Click here to learn more.
parent-child dedications
In this dedication both the family & congregation make promises to love, support, and encourage the child in their walk with Christ. Parents choose a Life Verse for their child that is shared during their dedication, which a verse parents hope will guide & comfort their child as they grow up.
VBS
Our Vacation Bible School is four days of pure chaos and fun! VBS is held in June and is for children ages 3 years-4th grade. Older kids & youth get involved too by serving as volunteers.
Passport Kids Camp
Passport is a four day, three night camp at Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton, GA. This is a wonderful week where we grow closer through worship, missions, activities, and Bible study.
fall festival
Held alongside our annual church-wide picnic, the Fall Festival is an afternoon of pumpkin painting, crafts, cookie decorating, and the highly-coveted raffle prize for guessing how much candy corn is in the jar!
christmas party
Building gingerbread nativities? Check. Christmas bingo? Of course. Making Christmas ornaments? Why would you even ask? Snowball fights (with snow or no snow outside)? You better believe it.
