First Baptist makes it a priority to minister to those who can no longer physically attend church. Our Extended Family Ministry sees the importance in helping these members know they are valued and cared for by FBC. We send orders of worship and prayer lists weekly. This ensures they stay connected to Worship and the congregation.

EXTENDED FAMILY

communion

Deacons at First Baptist volunteer quarterly to serve communion to our residents who are unable to receive communion at church. This ensures that they do not miss out on this important part of worship, and is a blessing to not only our homebound members, but to our deacons serving them as well.

bible study

In addition to online access to our worship services, seniors at Brookdale Senior Living are able to attend Bible Study, sponsored by our Extended Family Ministry. We also send devotionals and curriculum to our extended family members who will Zoom into our Conundrums Sunday School Class.

fellowship

From birthday parties, luncheons at restaurants and also at the various assisted living centers, to piano concerts and private visits, we seek to provide multiple opportunities throughout the year for homebound members to fellowship with one another, just as they would if they were physically attending First Baptist.

I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.
